5 Minute Freewrite - Warrior

in #freewrite7 years ago

The warrior and his companion sauntered up to the entrance of the cave. Outside the cave, there were two torches burning low. The sun had just recently rose, and there was a hint of moisture in the air.
'Are you ready,' asked the warrior of his companion.
'I suppose so,' said the companion. Both the warrior and his companion were armed with an axe, ready to fight what was within. When they entered the cave, it was immediately dark. The warrior lifted one of the torches off the bracket, small embers falling off and lighting up the air. Inside was their quarry - the lizard that had been terrorising their town. The rumours were that it was taller than a man, almost like a small version of a dragon.
'Up here,' said his companion. He was here mostly because he had previously battled a lizard such as this. His experience would be invaluable. The warrior was young, but strong. How would he cope with this, the latest trial he faced? He suspected with connsumate ease.
The duo came to an opening, where a small pond of water had formed. No hiding for this creature. It was used to doing what it wanted, when it wanted. When the warrior and his companion approaches, the lizard opened its eyes, and gave out a massive laugh.
'MORE FOOD HAS ARRIVED, I SEE,' thundered the lizard.
The warrior unsheathed his axe from his back.
'We'll see,' he said.

This was fun to read, are you going to continue the story of the duo? I have a feeling that the lizard may have wanted to order out...

Today I am traveling from the town of Freewrite, delivering the latest of the Goddess Marianne's prompts accompanied with the musical honk of my bicycle's horn!

I think I will continue it, perhaps just outside of free write. Thanks for the kind words. I shall investigate your very own free writing!

I look forward to seeing what happens next! Thank you!
