"We are going down! Everyone, fasten your seatbelts, please. Brace yourselves for impact", the pilot's voice rang through the speakers, even as the plane obeyed the law of gravity, plummeting to the ground.

"Oh my God!" "Lord forgive me!" "Mummy, I stole Katie's earring in high school, and let Sophie get the blame for it". "Sweetheart, I'm sorry for all I've put you through"...

The voices floating above Terri's head continued in their confessions and pleas for absolution. She was feeling glad that she had nothing to be sorry for, even as she gripped her fiancé's hands, searching his eyes for hope.

"I'm sorry baby. I had a one time affair with Ann, a colleague of mine. I never meant to hurt you. It was a one time thing, and I felt you should know, were this to be our last moment together. We were in a bad place in our relationship as at then. I'm truly sorry, baby", Turner's mild, baritone voice spurted out in a hurry.

And then, slowly at first, but in a whirl, the chaos around her thinned away, even as Terri stared into empty space, everything becoming one uniformity of nothingness.


Beep, beep, beep, beep! Terri woke up to the sound of her alarm clock. Mtchew, so it was all a dream, she said to herself, sitting on her bed in her condo in the ever busy commercial city of Lagos. Meanwhile, miles away, Turner was sweating heavily, midway through a round of early morning sex with Ann.
