🎬 EOS.IO Video Tutorial Challenge (EOS Keys and Wallet Registration Process) (2 WEEK CHALLENGE) [EOSBit & BeyondBit Prizes Inside]

in #eos-help7 years ago (edited)

There has been a lot of discussion in recent weeks over the process required to register EOS Tokens that have been purchased on the secondary markets like the Bitshares/OpenLedger DEX.

We have some really incredible team members in the BeyondBitcoin community who are always happy to help and we have talked about this during our EOSTalk Live shows, in the Bitshares Hangout after-parties, and in the Whaleshares Discord. However, we needed to create an easy how-to guide we could refer people needing further assistance to.

Last week @SteemPowerPics (SPP) created two informative step-by-step tutorials that walk people through the processes required to make sure your EOS tokens are properly registered before the June 1st lockup date. The first tutorial demonstrates how to move EOS tokens to a MetaMask wallet and set up the tokens in the wallet. The second tutorial shows how to generate EOS Keys and then register the wallet on the Ethereum Network.

We want to take this One Step Further!

This is where you come in. We're calling on anyone in the community with video editing skills of any level to create a VIDEO tutorial using the posts by SPP as your guide.

📜 Here's What You Have TO Do...

Create a VIDEO tutorial demonstrating the steps to create an approved ERC-20 Compatable wallet (MEW/MetaMask), Move EOS tokens to the wallet, Add the tokens to the wallet list, generate EOS Keys, and register that wallet address on the network - START to FINISH.

1) Your Video Tutorial Must Include the Following Steps:

  • Create a New Wallet in MetaMask or MEW
  • Transfer EOS (OPEN.EOS) to the Wallet from the Bitshares/OpenLedger DEX.
  • Add the Token to the Wallet "Tokens Tab" (using EOS Token Contract Address)
  • Confirm the EOS Tokens are in the Wallet Address
  • Generate EOS Keys
  • Register the ETH Wallet Address to the New EOS Keys (send register transaction)
  • Confirm the ETH Wallet Address and EOS Key has been Mapped and Registered

2) Upload your Video Tutorial to YouTube.

3) Create a post with your Video Tutorial embedded in it and include these tags in the post #eos-help #eos #eosbit

4) Please Upvote and ReSteem this post.
(Afterall, this is a community-building challenge.)

5) Reply below with a link to your your post, and your BTS/OL account name in the comments.

What are EOSBit?

EOSBit, like Beyondbit, started as a conversations in the BeyondBitcoin hangout series shortly after Steem was launched historically in those very hangouts. It began as "community tokens" or "tag coins". These cross-chain tokens give their holders the power to Summon a Whalevote to posts without having to pay for attention. And they are only given to people who Participate in Challenges, Win Contests and do other things of value for the community!

BeyondBit and EOSBit tokens are on BitShares! So make sure you have a BitShares/OpenLedger account to receive and send them for upvotes on your Steem posts!

HOLD on to your EOSBit!

These powerful cross-chain tokens will be very valuable in the future once EOS.IO has launched and associated DApps are brought online. We encourage you to participate in as many challenges as you are capable of and save up your EOSBit!

🌟FANTASTIC! Thank you @bushkill, you did a great job bringing the EOS Tutorial process to life for us.

It was great to see the explanation of the gas limit issue at the end, that has always been the Achilles Heel for new users having to deal with token/contract exchanges on the Ethereum network. Such a ridiculous fee process for people to have to deal with.

Thank you for putting the how-tos together. Without those the video wouldn't have happened. It was my first time dealing with Ether and it turned out to be a learning experience that at least ended well 🤯. Here is a decent explanation of gas if anyone is interested.

Thing to remember is gas limit is just that, a "limit". You only pay for what is used. If it is an important transaction to you, go ahead an put a little buffer in your gas limit. It is far better off than running out of gas.

Thank you for taking the time to create this for everyone - ReSteemed!

Thanks, I appreciate the resteem (and all you do)!

@bushkill and @steempowerpics, I followed along with both of your tutorials. Success! You took the mystery out of the process. I really feel like I need to give you big bear hugs. And, @officialfuzzy too for putting on this contest. It's so great to have peace of mind knowing that when the time comes for the launch of EOS blockchain, we'll be ready.

Thanks Karen, glad it went semi smoothly for you (I know you had some gas issues too). Credit for the tutorials goes to @steempowerpics, he did the brain work.

WOW!!! Thank you Feliz for taking the time to do this tutorial, it is absolutely incredible start to finish. We are happy to have you as part of our Spanish speaking community in Whaleshares. Great job on this!

¡WOW! Gracias Feliz por tomarte el tiempo de hacer este tutorial, es increíble.

Thank you creating this wonderful Spanish version - ReSteemed!

This is a much-needed educational resource for the community, excited to see what comes of the contest. Go EOS!

this looks like an awesome challenge. I can edit video but Im not sure whether I would understand the process myself! I was planning to try and buy some BTS but Im pretty green with cryptocurrencies....

Well give the process a try, if you're comfortable with how it all works then you can put together a video.

so I just opened a bitshares/openledger account but it says the gateway services for depositing BTC or SBD are down. I noticed something about works being over but do I just need to wait longer or am I missing something?

What about foe USA residents , Any ideas there ? or tutorials for that .

The tutorials given as an example by SPP are for USA residents, or anyone else who has to buy EOS tokens on the secondary markets. The videos created in this challenge would be for the same.

Does it have to be narrative?I mean do I have to talk in the video or I can use text instructions only?

It would be better with a voice narrative talking people through the process. Otherwise it's the same as the written tutorials I made :-)

I tried that while preparing tutorial on utopian, man I didn't like it myself, sounded like I was crying while talking lol.

this tutorial is what i really need. i am new in steemit, thanks for sharing.

I'm new here too. Please upvote and follow me. I'm following you.

Hey thanks for the post i was searching for something similar to this. Is it possible to get a video on how to register EOS already stored on MEW, using the Ledger Nano S.

Whole process seems complicated to me but i will try to follow the instructions. Thanks
