Cradle earth, sky tomb

What do you see in my eyes
Of the wandering phoenix?

What did you read
From my book of bone?

(Etching in modular paneling
Layered accross time)

What did you see in your flight
Over dream meadows in the lingering twilight?

Did you write it on parchment
Or on bark that floats
On the dawn ocean?

Show me the beginning of one chapter:
Draw the shape of life's end
In love's genesis.

Show me the meaning
Of your desire; paint inside
My mind in silence the intention

Dress the vision
In costumes from mythology

In colors from a different world
That make me feel unreal emotions
Not written about

Secret feelings that
Protect their existence
From the lips of the profane

Teach me the way of marrow;
Make me an unctious factory
Of verse quintessential.

Take the flame meandering,
Cull my idle thoughts;

Show the script bewildering
To the lover that was lost.

Poise the questions penned
There & then, gauge the reply:

And fasten the remarks
To my tomb upon the sky.

Notes

Original poetry written by @d-pend for Steemit and Dsound on February 19, 2018. This one is something of a dreamscape, concerning the magical nature of our incarnation here on Earth and its relation to the vaster reality which escapes our logical comprehension. There is a discontinuity analogous to dreams in the way the poem switches from directly questioning the "other" to making requests of it, and ends with referring to it in third person. The photos were taken by me on hiking trails near Holy Cross Church in Valle Crucis, NC with iPhone 5S and edited using Lunapic.

d-pend I consider you

Brother in the "grief", lover of silence and his company, treasure hunter in the mud and garbage. Photographer of lives he longs for and never had, wandering among dreams without stopping at any, wonderful creature that finds distance in the vicinity, which dodges the wind and rain to stay with the air and water. Sad human artist, cheerful, nostalgic thirsting for memory in the deserts of oblivion. Alma written in verse, hands of irrational paper. Do not stop turning life into words and dreams. Be happy and be eternal, poet.

Life is mortal while Love is forever and ever because it belongs to spirituality. To me this is the pure depiction of the love in these lines,
Secret feelings that
Protect their existence
From the lips of the profane

I did not know that you are that much skilled photographer too my friend @d-pend <3

As I said before you seem like a man of substance. You think differently, unlike other people. You have a strong mind. I had to reread to understand the depth of the poem. Brilliant writing. Also, you're great at photography. :)

This particular poem of yours is reminiscent of native-American cultures. The tomb in the sky image makes me feel so. There are powerful phrases like "Cull my idle thoughts;". What is transcendental meditation if not culling idle thoughts? My vote.

Hi @d-pend, Extremely Amazing creations. Your Dsound production giving spirituality same version of poetry. Your lyrics carrying to me various world always when I read it. Talented and native skills generate excellent poem. This one is the best contribution to steemit. It's a concerning the magical nature. Look at poem.....how introduce main title from poetry. Denotation and connotation are both terms that are very important in poetry, especially when you're writing it, because they can determine the meaning of your words and assist to set the tone of the poem. Your every poems seems deepest thoughtful indeed. It gives up more motivation. I have low poetry knowledge and see some of your followers try to wrote poem through your knowledge using. It would be best development to platform. Thank you for inspiration.

I really like your poetry, because you can create a very beautiful word and you also read with great appreciation so that your poetry can penetrate into the soul as one listens to the poem you read. That's why I always like your poetry and very salute with your work. I have also written a new poem in my article on "Forbidden Love".

I wrote the poem to people who feel about forbidden love, I really hope that with my poetry it can make people who read it can continue the spirit in the matter of romance and not despair. Because I really wanted my poetry it could be a motivation for the crowd. Although now I can not create a good poem like you. Hopefully I will also be successful as you. Thank you and wish you a wonderful day .... :)

And yet another soulful poetry! This calibre of writing is way too beautiful ❤
