Humans are hard-wired to pay attention to drama, it’s a survival instinct. Fear and FOMO rule the space here, just like the mainstream world. I think FOMO is the dominant thing people experience due to the fact that this space is evolving so quickly that no one can possibly keep up with it. Just when I think I am aware of the blockchain space some new project emerges out of nowhere, with investors... just look at the Coindesk article, there’s millions of things to write about in Steem but the writer chose to focus on Berniesanders.
