The Importance of Social Controls for the Prevention of Crime

social-controls.jpg

The family, the school, the workplace, the church, the State and its controlled institutions, in charge or lesser degree, exercise social control over the individual. The fear of defrauding a beloved and influential relative puts a stop to certain behaviors that become crimes. In the same way, the school, the place of work and the church to which one belongs belong. On the other hand, the State and its institutions, in a special way, policies and courts warn the individual of the consequences of a bad action that could be severely punished.
