Welcome to my first ever blog post. The first section of my blog will be focusing on Travel Hacking.

Travel hacking is essentially using the best credit cards to maximize the points you get from your everyday spending, and then redeeming those points for air tickets and hotels. For example, rather than using your debit card for your grocery purchases and restaurant bills, you could use an Amex Gold Card to get 4 points per Dollar spent on both of those categories.

With many young Americans easily spending over $200 a week on restaurants/groceries, that's $10,400 a year, or 41,600 American Express Membership Reward points. What can one do with 41,600 points? Depending on the point conversion and the deals you get, you can easily travel round trip anywhere in the US with Delta Airlines. To give you an example of what you could do with points flying internationally, check the image below.

As you can see, the 41,600 points is very valuable. It can be exchanged for an international round trip ticket to certain destinations. These points can easily be accumulated by spending money on groceries and restaurants - which you would have already done on a debit card or non-rewards credit card. So why not learn how to maximize points by using the right credit cards.

And I just want to be clear, I am cherry picking a high spending category with a credit card that offers the most rewards in that category, but as a consumer, you should be cherry picking your credit cards on everything you spend.

And this isn't even mentioning all of the other points you would be getting with non-food related spending that you are already doing, signup bonuses with credit cards for new customers, and the dozens of other credit cards that give you extra points for other categories such as gas, entertainment, online purchases, etc.

So stay tuned for my guide on travel hacking, and I'll show you how you could be traveling for free every year.
