Liverpool agree £142 million deal to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona. Barca finally succeeded in their pursuit of the playmaker on Saturday. Coutinho is due to fly out to Barcelona later on Saturday evening to finalise terms, with the move including a significant immediate down-payment following by achievable, guaranteed add-ons.
Liverpool spent a world-record fee for a defender recently when they signed Virgil van Dijk from Southampton for £75m. It remains to be seen whether they try and sign a replacement for Coutinho in this window.
