Haiku Saturday

IMG_5849 (1).jpg

We are half way through #poetryweekend and the fun has just begun. It's #haikusaturday; time for some poetic creativity and community building.

The Rules

  • UPVOTE and REESTEEM this post.
  • Put @prydefoltz in your title and one of your tags should be #haikusaturday
  • Write a haiku post and drop the link in the comments below.
  • Visit at least three other haiku and comment and upvote their COMMENT here. You can also upvote their post if you got the upvote power but it is not necessary. Your votes will decide the winners.
  • Wrote a haiku for another contest or challenge; feel free to post it here too. I'm not possessive.
  • The liquid payout from this post (SBD) will be split up among the winners (those who received the most upvotes) and the most supportive participants, those who upvoted and commented the most.

Steem is low. Last week the SBD payout was a grand total of 0.106 but we had a benefactor in the form of @dabeckster. Dabeckster donated 1 SBD. The total prize pool grew to 1.106. We had seven awesome participants and so I divided the total by seven and rounded up a bit and everyone in the following list will receive 0.16 SBD.

@liverussian
@marlyncabrera
@lazarus-wist
@rlt47
@artofwisdom
@mineopoly
@dabeckster

I transferred over the donated 1 SBD over to my savings for safe keeping last week. Withdrawal is a three days process. I began the process two days ago and so the 1SBD will be available for transfer to you guys tomorrow or maybe later this evening. So not to worry, your prize SBD is coming.

In the meantime, go for a walk, take a picture, and then a write a haiku. It's simple.

And be on the lookout for the close out to #poetryweekend. Sunday is #deadpoems.

Words and image are my own:)

A great poem and sublime flowers. Congratulations friend.

Thank you, Cordero:)

That's a fabulous haiku @prydefoltz....on point! and the pictures, too :)

Thank you, Karma:)

My pleasure :)

Happy to join again in this beautiful project by @prydefoltz. Hi, you all! :-)

After looking at this picture I took two days ago during hours and hours, plus lots of attempts to express what I "saw" in it accurately and hopefully beautifully, and after taking my imagination back to that moment of contemplation, here's my eleven words XD
My haiku for this Saturday:
                            "Thrive"

very cool, love the end

Now outlives the end

Thank you @satorid. The end had me thinking a lot :3

Inspirational, Marlyn:)

Got my vote! I will restate for the record my comment under your original post :)

Wow @marlyncabrera! Poignant & Powerful.
Totally awesome & I agree with @satorid..love the end.

Thank you, @karmashine :-) The last line was the hardest to find.

Not to worry, we will still take you, especially since you come bearing such a fabulous 'ku:):):)

You're being too kind, Pryde) and thank you for calling my haiku 'fabulous' )

Love the metaphor:)

Beautifully spotted and I love your thought of 'stem without thorns', roses are gorgeous, but can cause pain, everyone knows it... and there is also another kind of beauty not everyone is able to see - tiny wild harmless beauty )

Thank you, the wild flowers are beautiful.

By far my favorite entry to #haikusaturday that I have seen so far! AWESOMENESS!!! and that first image.....stop playing! I could stare at that for hours!!!!

@karmashine - I'm humbled by your kind words.

Your triplets are tree times more stunning than just one - they compliment one another, triggering additional thoughts of a reader. Standing alone they're absolutely complete haikus, but together they're more than that! It's like being able to look at something from another point of view, as if you could get a critique comments on your piece by three different people and enrich your own perception of the piece.

These three haikus themselves are like a white ray of light becoming the whole rainbow when being refracted! Haha, interestingly they're talking about colours and they're colours themselves!

Thank-you @liverussian, for the kind words - don't forget this is your idea, I'm simply running with it ;)

And then you get all scientific on me - Hha!!!

ahahaha, well, you're running with it just splendidly!

I do take instructions extremely well... ;)

Seeing the squirrels walking and eating is a spectacle. Light up our eyes.

Damn. That's a good one @corderosiete!! :) #onpoint

You know, the last line of your haiku is just brilliant, I don't know if it was intended, but using short one-syllable words feel like a squirrel making its litle noises ))) ahaha

OMG!!! hhahahahaha. It was totally an unconscious choice. It just kinda came out that way. Thanks for pointing that out :) I agree, and thats awesome! Cheers @liverussian!

your heart was leading you the right way - the heart of a poet!
