Now to the story for this week.

Caleb had always been a notorious fellow, always causing trouble wherever he went. One may say that his actions were due to the fact that his parents were late. But that was no excuse as he had his Uncle catering for his needs. Caleb had joined up with bad company and his case became worse. So bad that his uncle kicked him out of the house. When he was leaving. his uncle's wife told him this "This habit of yours would lead to your doom."

Good luck, and may the best story win.

Caleb had always been a notorious guy, always causing trouble wherever he went. It can be said that his actions were due to the fact that his parents were late. But that was no excuse since he had his uncle attending to his needs. Caleb had joined bad company and his case worsened. So bad that his uncle threw him out of the house. When he was leaving. His uncle's wife told him: "This habit of yours would lead you to ruin".
Regardless of those words, Caleb grabbed a path without any fixed direction. He came to ask for shelter from his friend Joshua, a delinquent in a suit and tie; stealing and committing crimes that would generate money and profits was his job. He always wore brand clothes and jewelry, which dazzled Caleb since he was very poor.
One day Joshua came up with the brilliant idea of stealing Caleb's uncle's jewelry, he was the perfect guide. The perfect day was Sunday, his uncle did not stay to sleep there. In the early morning without leaving any trace that gave him away Joshua and Caleb entered through a secret door with a key that Caleb had hidden.
Inside a bag they put jewelry and money, minutes before leaving they heard a noise, it was Caleb's uncle who surprised them. When Joshua saw him without saying a word, he was shot, the sound of the weapon alerted the police who carried out surveillance work in the area. Joshua, like an expert, fled without any problem, but Caleb could not leave, afraid to see his uncle lying on the ground with his body covered in blood, he took him in his arms and said: Uncle, forgive me! Worried that his uncle did not react, he went out to ask for help. The police went to help Caleb who asked to take his uncle to the hospital. Caleb informed the police that a man had entered to rob and that in the middle of everything they shot his uncle. Caleb, very worried and repentant, talked to his uncle after he woke up. He promised to be a better man, and watch over them.
Caleb learned the lesson, since that day he changed his way of being and thinking. Today he helps his uncle at work and regrets what produced his bad deeds.

Instead of lashing out a smart reply, he just grabbed his stuff and headed out the door. The anger he felt towards her made him feel this thing, like a hot thread being pulled along his center. He could feel the energy coming and smirked as he thought “That statement of yours would lead to YOUR doom”. Of course she wouldn't understand. The hallucinogens and dissociative drugs he gets from the guys from the alley on the farthest end of the city is the only thing keeping him from ruining everything in this stupid place. Only the hallucinations can make this thing he possess sensible. This thing might be the reason why his parents kept forgetting his existence in the first place. Who would want to deal with a freak?

The thoughts agitated him even more. He really needs those meds quickly. But then it hit him, he does not have any money to pay them since his uncle kicked him out, so what now? He trudged fast along the paved road which started having tiny cracks on them as he walked. He could feel his palms tingling and a small pile of stacked books for donations to his right went up in flames. The people were surprised and confused while they panicked to put out the fire.

His eyes grew wide as he watched the flames and started running towards the end of the city, leaving behind him chaos of different degrees. It could gave been handy, you know? This power, or this curse but he kept repressing it and never honed it for it was to him, nothing but a curse.

Apparently, he could summon fire, pyrokinesis as they called it. The other thing where everything just caves in and crumbles, he has no idea what that is.

He reached the alley where guys in dull colored clothing littered near a bonfire, looking dazed and, well, drugged.

“Main! Main! I need hallucinogens man.”

“You got the money for it?” Main, the guy near the back said, his words echoing along the sooty bricked walls. Caleb can see him as he stood up straight and walked towards him. He was the dealer known with many names but Caleb knew nothing more about him other than that he was a jerk.

“Well, no, my uncle kicked me out. But you know me, I always pay. I just really need them now and I can pay you back later.” Caleb said. Squeezing his eyes shut as he started seeing flashes of red and glimmers of light started dancing around his line of sight. He heard a sound like stone cracking nearby, and a low hum as the brick wall shook ever so slightly.

“Well, I'm pretty sure you know that that’s not how things work around here. You got to pay first, before you dive in and even forget that you bought the candies in the first place.”

The bonfire burned a little higher and the brick walls got a bit looser. Caleb started walking towards Main, shoving the hair out of his eyes as he said, “Listen, I just need them now, and I swear I will pay you back.” He started pulling on Main's coat but he got shoved back. And that's when the walls fell in the alley and the fire reached high, meeting the bricks which fell on everyone in the alley as Caleb fell flat on the main paved road. It was not the first time his chaos had taken a life, and it always seemed like an accident due to flawed structures and weak foundations.

The tingling in his palms took him back to the task at hand, but as he walked towards the pile of bricks and dust to try and retrieve some of the hallucinogens from Main's body, the sound of sirens ringed from afar. Caleb panicked and started running towards the end of the city and out of the borders. And without the hallucinogens and depressants, he wondered how he could manage this curse running through his veins.

"When my uncle serves me shit, I eat it with sauce because I once heard that when men grow old, they grow soft in the head. But not any more shit from you," Caleb fired back at the uncle's wife.

"What? Caleb!! We want the best for you. Your parents weren't like this....." She had much to say but was cut short.

"Hey hey! Hold it there! And stop reminding me about my parents. I know you have always been a preacher but save your sermon now and hear me out for once," Caleb roared.

"I know if you had the power," he continued. "You would've obviously brought the doom upon me, not merely wishing, becauae you have never ceased to speak ill of me.

"Just imagine! You instigated your husband against me, right? You want me out of this house, eh?

"Here is Caleb, the one you so much love to abuse because he has neither mom nor dad. You have always known that wilfully or not, he would always swallow every humiliation without questions. Today, forget not to keep my words abreast. You called me brat, then thief and finally, a criminal. When next I visit you in this house or anywhere, it will be in the ways and manners that criminals do."

He swished through the door and hastened into the street with a brief hand bag that contained his personal belongings.

They were many who were his friends but none was the son a decent parent would be proud of. They were all rusticated from school due to bad behaviour. They drank, smoked and raped women. And lastly, they joined big time armed robbers.

Once, twice and again, Caleb went out on robbery operation with them. Each time, he got some great chunk of cash as his share.

Now, money was no longer a problem. He felt it was time to repay his enemies. Those who were heartless enough to drive him away from their home but just then, the gang leader chose to lead them out again. This time, on a robbery operation that turned bloody.

It was a bloody shoot out with the police. Right there and then, Caleb went down, having gulped two hot bullets deep into his young chest.

Wow...! Nice story.

Congrats your are the winner for the week. Check out our new post.

Hello! I find your post valuable for the wafrica community! Thanks for the great post! @wafrica is now following you! ALWAYs follow @wafrica and use the wafrica tag!

I hope Caleb dont regret it later. He had an uncle to care yet he is misusing the opprtunity. Well my fear is if he wouldnt come back to harm his uncle who threw him out

What the uncle's wife told Caleb is true. If he's not careful, his attitude will lead him to his doom.

i am guessing calab is still in the youthful stage of life where he hasnt attained maturity yet. hoping to hear what happened to him in the next episode. Going back to keep abreast of caleb's story.

Caleb oh Caleb, people should learn to listen.
