Hello Steemians and welcome back to my blog page, today I will be starting off a competition series which will be based on quirky, funny, thought provoking, insightful, sad, happy etc. contributions from you guys, not only will you get to enjoy the fun of participating and sharing your stories, there is also 5 STEEMS UP FOR GRABS! – that’s right, the winner (s) get 5 STEEMS! How it works:
Here is how it works, I will come up with a topic or a line and ask you to expand on it, (please read the rules section carefully so that you are clear on exactly how this works), so, without further ado, here is today’s opening line:
“a funny thing happened to me on my way to ........”
So, you take that line as an opening line and build on it.
The Rules:
• Keep it short, your entry should be no more than 100 words, this is so that people do not find it too tasking to read.
• Upvote this post – the prizes are going to be given from my own pocket for the first 2 competitions, but going forward I would like the competition to generate its own pot and this is where your upvotes would help, the bigger the pot the bigger the prizes that we are able to give out in the future so please, remember, remember to upvote.
• Resteem – resteeming is one of the key rules of this competition, resteeming is a key criteria for participating.
How the winners will be picked:
• The winners will not be decided by me, they will be decided by you guys, if you read a entry that you particularly like then just type the word “vote” in the comment section of that entry, you do not have to upvote the entry, (upvote the competition though) just type the word “vote” in the comment section. That’s all.
Transparency:
• The winner of the competition will emerge at the end of the 7 days run, as soon as the competition closes I shall be sending the winners winnings to their wallet, once this has been done I shall be leaving a comment in the comments section to say that it has been done.

A funny thing happened to me today while I was on my way to pay for a hamer a three nails in the hardware store. A man stopt me and said it was lovely to see me again in such a strange place. I looked around and there was nothing unusual, but I suddenly felt two hands on my belly rubbing it. He surely thinks he knows me. “ How are you” he asked me” . Ok” I said looking at huis hands. His hands still resting on my belly. I just couldn’t remember this man nor his name. We said good buy, startled for some seconds, I ran after him to ask his name. Before I reached him, he met up with his mates, all giving him money, and I heard one mate say: We meant to say, touch a random girl for more than 30 seconds who is not pregnant!

A funny thing happened to me on the way to school today. I don't know if to call it funny or embarrassing. As I hurriedly went to school, I noticed a lot of persons staring and smiling at me sheepishly. I wondered why. I knew I wasn't so pretty as I hadn't applied any makeup on. As I turned back, I saw a mad man pointing and running towards me. Without thinking, I started running for my dear life. As I ran, I tripped and fell heavily. He caught up with me and said "the back zipper on your skirt is open and take, your wig fell off while you were running". Oh my God! I was really embarrassed. And it was one of those days when I don't put on any underwears..meanwhile the inscription on my shirt read "I'M SEXY AND I LIKE IT". No wonder those people were staring and smiling.
I was even madder than the mad man!

A funny thing happened to me on my way to a church conference trip. I dashed out of the house without crosschecking what i had in my bag cos i was late for the trip. On the way, pastor asked me to give him my bible cos his bible is in his luggage, i handed my bible over to him only for him to say " Sister Faith, you just gave me a romance novel not a bible". I was quite embarrased, it was then i remembered my bible's cover and novel cover is same

A funny thing happen to me on my way to work last week Saturday. As usual I hurried to work knowing if I don’t I’ll probably be late again, but something seems off; My neighborhood who always leave for work earlier than me seems to be unprepared and surprisingly waving at me. As I drive happily down Lagos Island-bridge (which is quite famous for traffic), I notice I’m the only one driving down the lane at that moment I tremble in fear. I stepped down from my car, cross to the other lane to ask a group of men what seems to be wrong, They laughed and said today is Environmental Saturday. ( meaning no movement till 10am)

A funny thing happened on my way to my car the other week. I was at the shopping center strolling through the car park walking to my car and pressing the button to unlock it. It's a bit old and dicky and sometimes I need to use the house key to get the button to work because my fingers are so fat. Anyway I was pressing the button for what seemed like ages when a lady said excuse me, walked past me and got in the car after it finally opened. My car was three spaces down :/

@cryptogrind a funny thing happened to me on my way to the market today, as i was robbed . The robbers where so hungry that i was stripped off my clothes, and i was left to return home with my boxers and singlets on. What a sad and funny experience that was for me as my phone was also stolen . I was also accompanied by the robbers home to collect the charger of my phone. I have sworn not to use any expensive phone again. Lol.

A funny thing happened to me on my way to our hospital's locker room. We had this tiny "changing room" where we can wear our scrub suits. So I saw my crush from another school (whom I don't know his name yet) entered this room. While I was waiting for him to get out so I can change my suit, I was asking some of my group mates for his name. They said they don't know. Finally, he got out from that room and he said "I'm DONE", and as happy as I was, I pinched my girl friend and said "He is DAN! His name is DAN!" Then I got a huge poke from my friend saying "You crazy girl! He's done changing his scrub suit!" I was laughin so hard because of embarrassment.
