Currently it couldn’t replace KickStarter for scope, scale, & toolset... but have you checked out https://fundition.io/ ?
You could set up a tandem campaign there for a bit of extra Steem related PR and to test it out. I’ve been toying with some ideas to test out myself.

I have not! Just took a look - thanks for pointing it out. I'll look into it in more detail tomorrow - about to go to bed. Looks like it may have some potential though.
It has potential! Just a crowdfunding oriented Steem front end. It could help with tracking, but it’s so early I think you’d be helping promote it as much as it would help you. Still not a bad thing to do though!
