Welcome back to another Bible QnA my steemians brothers!

…and Jesus said to me: “Oh I feel relieved now that you bind Satan. I could not have done it myself because I already gave all my power to you.”

bible qa 6.jpg

I quoted that statement from a book I read about Spiritual Battle. The author was trying to explain that we have power over demons to bind or send them to hell. He went so far as to say that Jesus had no power over demons because he gave his all power to us.

He (the author of the book) was sleeping and Satan came to him to course him, Jesus was there, but he could not do anything because he had no power over Satan. He already gave all his power to believers. The story ends when he bind the devil and Jesus thank him.

That is how many Christian understand Spiritual Battle. I have been in praying services where some Christians begin to bind and forbid spiritual forces from doing this or that.

How do we Christians engage in the spiritual battle against our common enemy, Satan?

“Resist the Devil,” says the Bible.

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

1 Peter 5:8-9

The Bible also says “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

Our fight consists of no allowing his temptations find its way to our flesh. We resist Satan by being strong in the Lord and his word.

The tools for our fight is the armor of God described in the Bible, its parts are the truth, justice, the Gospel, faith, the assurance of our salvation, the word of God and praying.

…be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

Ephesians 6:10-18

Spiritual warfare has nothing to do with earthly, but heavenly and eternal things. We christians must stand to bring glory to God.

Dear @paquetedecuba,

You are correct. Spiritual warfare is fought in the spiritual realm against evil spiritual beings with spiritual weapons.

For though we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh. The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We tear down arguments, and every presumption set up against the knowledge of God; and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.… 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

It's blasphemy to say that Jesus has no power because he gave his power to believers.

The Bible says that if you resist Satan he will flee from you. There's nothing to indicate that he can be bound or that demons can be bound or sent anywhere.

Jesus Christ has given us power to bind and destroy all the works of the devil, that doesn't mean that Jesus has no more power in himself. Remember he said "all power in heaven and on earth has been given unto him". Whatever power we're still going to use to bind the devil is in christ, thus Christ's power cannot be exhausted

hey thank you for your comment! where does the Bible say that he has given us power to destroy all works of the devil ?

Luke 10:19 is one of them. There are several others, search the scripture and you'll discover them

Great reminder brother! He has given us all we need for life and godliness. He has given us His very nature! He has imparted Himself to us! God lives in us! He has united us to Himself! He has given us authority to defeat the works of the devil! Thank you Jesus for giving us the keys! Help us remember this important truth!
