RE: The real truth about what happens after you die.

in #christianity6 years ago

Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Hebrews 9:27-28 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

John 11:11-14 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Jesus was a man, so he had to die once. He rose from the dead back to life and ascended up into heaven to rule with God, his father.
I don't think the judgement comes immediately after we die, though it may appear to us as if it is so. We all die and go to the grave, to the dust of the earth from which we were made, where we await the resurrection. To us it will probably seem like we've gone to sleep and awoke at some distant future.
I think judgement comes immediately after the resurrection and both will be real, physical events on earth just like the coming of the kingdom.

Yep, the Bible is clear...but some still follow newer traditional thoughts of doing to heaven or burning in hell forever as soon as you die. I've written a few posts on it and I'm writing a response to their objections.
