SOMETHING TO SAY

God’s wisdom is always available to all people belonging to God. The Lord made it fully available to us so that we may become successful in our endeavor of obeying His pleasing and perfect will.

Wisdom is gratis, but we need to put whatever we can to have it. I remember King Solomon when the time he’s asking by God for the things he wants to possess.

He said: “7 In that night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask what I shall give you.” 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this great people of Yours?” 11 God said to Solomon, “Because [d]you had this in mind, and did not ask for riches, wealth or honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor have you even asked for long life, but you have asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge that you may rule My people over whom I have made you king, 12 wisdom and knowledge have been granted to you.”

Wisdom is a highest form of virtue and anyone who seek it from God, can find it.

Jeremiah 29:13 says, “13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

God’s requirement for having wisdom is to seek Him with all of our hearts. Meaning to say, we need to make such kind of noble desire as utmost priority of our hearts.

Consider this: Any Christ believing person who really wants to handle life wisely must desire wisdom that comes from the Lord.

Let’s now consider what the book of James can tell on how we can live wisely.

James 3:13 “Who is wise and has understanding among you? He should show his works by good conduct with wisdom's gentleness”

What are some ways to live wisely? In here when we grasp the idea that the way to live wisely is to:

SEEK GOD WITHOUT HESITATION

Acquiring Godly wisdom begins by seeking God. This desire must flow out deeply within our hearts. We need to desire God in order to gain wisdom that can help us manage our fragile life.

SHOW IT BY BEING WISE IN YOUR DECISION

The word understanding used by James in verse 13 has an idea of being a well rounded person in his own field of expertise. A person who is an expert on something will definitely prove himself knowledgeable on the details of his craft. He knew “WHAT TO DO and HOW TO DO IT” excellently. It is also the same for a child of God who earnestly desiring wisdom that comes from the Lord. When he posses it, he make use of it as a winning material to improve his life and his relation to God and others.

PROVE IT BY HAVING A NOBLE LIFE

The word ‘good conduct” has an idea of having an excellent proof of testimony of an attitude change. James challenges his readers to show off the mark of having a Godly wisdom. Do you really have it, do you really possess it? Then prove it by living a noble life--life that when people sees it, they didn’t see anymore the old you but a person who has a renewed life in Christ.

PARTING WORDS

Friends, people are not getting tired of looking at our daily life. Because they are so busy and they have no time reading the bible to seek wisdom from the Lord, to conduct their behavior in a manner that is right to God. What they are doing is just simply observing us, our own life—people like us who professed that we knew God and we are now in Christ are the living proof of God’s wisdom.

What they are expecting to see from us is a kind of testimony that somehow they can have an opportunity to testify within themselves that the Bible is truly the living word of God; it is for real because they have seen that life in us.

Acquire Godly wisdom and apply understanding so your life may become pleasing to the Lord.

A blessed day to all!
