We just announced our quarterly results and gave an update on our progress to bring the world closer together. Our community is now more than 2 billion people, including more than 1.3 billion people who use Facebook every day.

I'm proud of the progress our community is making, and it comes with a responsibility to make sure we have the most positive impact on the world that we can. That's why, last month, we updated Facebook's mission to focus not just on connecting the world, but also bringing the world closer together.

A big part of this is building community. We've set a goal to help 1 billion people join groups that become a meaningful part of their lives both online and in the physical world, and last month we rolled out new tools to help people start and grow communities on Facebook.

This quarter we also announced that more than 250 million people use Instagram Stories every day, and more than 250 million people use WhatsApp Status every day. We're going to keep improving and giving you more ways to share.

As always, it's an honor to be on this journey with you.

Sort:

and how much do the 2billion users earn from useing facebook ? ZERO ! Thats why steemit is the better community

you are right bro.... billion of user but user profit ZeRo....

Steemit's another advantage against Facebook is the fact that Steemit currently doesn't have (and never had) advertisements (so far) on it's website.
As far as I know there are a lot of advertisements on Facebook.
But I don't use Facebook for more than a year. I don't have a Facebook account.
I deleted my Facebook account last year (2016 June 20).

As an investment Facebook is a no brainer, the revenue growth coupled with decreasing expenses. They project that they'll be spending much more each quarter and thus earn less but yet can't spend enough to keep pace with all the cash they have coming in. Instagram stories was a home run for them and I'm sure they'll do a great job monetizing Whatsapp as well.

Personally I use all their apps. Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp. I don't post much, but I find them great for direct communication and to keep up to date with major events in your network. I use the "see less from..." filter heavily to weed out the frequent posters.

If they ever decide to launch a crypto, its competition wouldn't be Bitcoin, it'd be the US Dollar.
