My New Steem Strategy

My new Steem strategy

I’m on this platform for almost six months now, and until this point, I posted more or less in a chaotic way based on if I was in the mood to work or not but I think that has to be changed.
I’ve been thinking about a strategy that could benefit both, my blog and my actual writing skills for a long time and I think that now I’m ready to go for it.

I’m a chaotic person a lot of the times, that’s why I need more discipline, that’s why I need to take a commitment, that’s why I’m writing this post. My posts are not the fanciest nor my language since I’m a Romanian but to be able to speak my mind I don’t have to get all fancy.

The Strategy

If you’re using youtube you probably already stumbled upon Gary Vaynerchuck, I love the guy, and I think that what he’s sharing is of value. Even when I joined Steem, I got inspired by him to start my interview series, which I should work on again, and it turned out to be useful.

Gary is not fancy either, he’s just outworking everybody and that is a huge inspiration. In the beginning, I used to work even 10 hours on Steem but since then the number of invested hours lowered more and more due to this crazy thing called life.

What I focused most on was the community, making friends even if it was through comments or discord. I feel like I didn’t give enough attention to my blog in this time so I want to fix that.
I am going to post every day. It’s not going to be easy, but I will try to do it. My problem is that, for me, it’s harder to write in the working days and I’m usually writing my articles on the weekends. I will write more because I have ideas too and I will get a queue of posts ready for each week.

Here are some post series I’m going to work on.

The Sunday Purge

The Sunday Purge started out of anger, on a Sunday, when I saw some spammers making more on posts than me and I decided to write about it.

Initially, it was only one post, but then one friend asked me if this is a new series of mine and that gave me the idea to continue it. Because the amount of interaction was overwhelming, I feel like it worths to share my views on the rotted part of Steem.

So, every Sunday I am going to post one Sunday Purge post where I will share my opinions on some Steem related issues and maybe even good parts until I don’t have anything else to share.

Photography

Photography is something that I like doing even if I’m not the best at it. I used to post one photo every day, but I realized that the quality of my pictures wasn’t always that best and some of them were bad.

I have taken pictures in a while, but I am going to start doing it soon again. The problem is that I hate the cold weather and outside are about 0 degrees or even less sometimes and I hate staying outside.

I will try to make a weekly photography post or something like that.

Writings

My writings are going to cover most of the week since I love doing them. So, I already have two days covered with photography and the Sunday Purge, so there are five more free days for my writings.

I’m usually writing about philosophy or my views on certain things, but I will try to post about lighter topics too.

Maybe once per week, I’ll post something different, but I’ll have to see since I haven’t posted like that before.

Conclusion

Well, this is pretty much it. I will try to post every day, at around 4 pm UTC, that’s my magic hour, more or less. Of course that I may not be able to do it every single day since sometimes life may get in my way but I will sure as hell try to stick to it.

Of course, I will also try to provide as much value as I can, and I have realized that lately, writing 500 words articles comes pretty easy. That’s what I consider a decent amount of words in a post since more may be too much for a reader.

Make sure to follow my progress.

First of all, I really like your layout on this post. Nothing fancy, but looks clean and good! Keep it up!

Secondly, I´m very much the same... I spent so many hours in the beginning, but life has just been SOOO busy last couple of months.

I would really like to make the same decision as you, but I´m not sure I am able at the moment. Running a start up company + having 3 small kids doesnt equal shit lods of time... :)

Anyway, good luck! I hope you will keep it going and wish you success!

I´ll follow!

Thank you, I appreciate it a lot. I feel like the looks of a post are essential.

I wish I could spend more time in here. All the spare time is invested in Steem.

Your schedule seems a lot busier than mine; three small kids is no joke, lol. But you should try to post more often, if not daily, at least consider posting 2-3 times per week.

Thank you for your comment. ;)

Yeah 3 kids .. 3 boys.. Age 2, 5 and 8...... Haha. It´s insane! Lol.

Will definitely try to post 2-4 times a week. And I think I need to do something like you have done. Focus on 2-4 themes. That will make the blog more consistent I think.

May they all become STEEM Millionaires. :D

You shouldn't post more than you actually can, just to reach that goal because you may become frustrated for not making anything and drop everything off. Post because you enjoy the process, the rewards may or may not come.

Thats a plan man :D

And this is just the beginning. :)

Sounds like you are the man with a plan! :) Your English is very good. Like you I am rather haphazard with routine but I work everyday for at least 6 hours. I like being erratic and intend to continue to be so; I find it liberating. I look forward to reading more. have a great weekend- writing! :0 xox

Thanks, I'm always wondering if I'm making mistakes while talking or if people can understand what I'm saying, lol. It's harder to write in a foreign language but exciting too.

Writing it'll be. I'm planning on preparing at least two additional posts in case something comes up this week. :D

I know plenty of native English speakers who can't write as well as you ;-) People care about the quality of the content, the ideas, much more than phrasing it in grammatically perfect English - and the fact that you're out here doing this, and in a non-native language is inspiring!

I just came back on after 5ish months - but keep finding myself checking it, and reading, and thinking and getting ideas but not accomplishing anything that I'm supposed to be doing - or posting on Steemit lol. How do you reign yourself in, and FOCUS ? What's your secret!

Thank you, that means a lot to me. That is what I think too; the message has to be strong.

For me it's not that hard, to be honest, I love being here, creating and engaging with the community. I would love if I could have more spare time to do even more stuff. I'm not usually linking to articles from me, but you should give THIS a look, you'll get what I mean.

I'm mostly writing the posts for me because I like doing so and I'm publishing them on Steem afterward if I consider them good enough.

Find at least one community on Steem that you think you may love and make some real friends. You will not be able to leave the platform ever again, lol. :)))

Thank you for providing me with a procrastination link ;-) Haha. Going to read it now. There are so many communities that interest me - if I can get the time management thing down, I will get more involved. I think you gave a really good tip in your comment - you're doing it for you because you enjoy it. (Which in turn brings success). Perspective is super important. Looking forward to more from you!!

This is what drives me in, what I love about this place. I could do so many other things with my time, but I love the grind, I love answering that comment, engaging with the people.

Not everybody has to be this way, but this is what works for me. :D

Good luck Guy! I am also on a daily posting regimen and IMO it makes a big difference. You may find yourself gaining followers and getting good payouts more steadily as you post more regularly.

Do you have any plans for measuring / tracking your progress with this new strategy?

Thank you, Matt. I was thinking about this for a long time. I wrote this post before joining @Sndbox because it was about the time to post more often but when I found out that I got nominated, I realized that it was the perfect timing.

Huh, I haven't thought about tracking my progress. I should use your tracking strategy. How big of a difference does tracking make? :D

A pretty big difference I think. It lets you know whats up

This feels like a really great plan. I hope you get enough discipline and encouragement to push through with these plans.

I hope so too. I love writing the posts and engaging in the comments; I fear that I may not be able to prepare them every day due to life. But we'll see, I guess. :D

Lovely strategy and ambitions for your blog. Just don't get burned out:)! The Sunday purge sounds interesting, gonna keep an eye on those discussions!

Thank you. I don't think I will get burned out, one post per day doesn't even seem that much right now. I love doing The Sunday Purge, and people seem to like it too.

Perhaps we should remind each other every day to write ;)
The proverbial stick behind the door.

I can tell you - from experience - that it definitely works. Also very clever what you did with the whole theme thing (a certain theme on a certain day). I'm not that far yet but I feel I'm getting there too.

Keep up the good work!

I wish I could write every day but sometimes I can't. Fortunately, I have more spare time on the weekends, and then I'm usually getting ready 1-2 posts for the week, just in case.

Thank you bud, I appreciate it. ;)
