BitShares Hangouts Speakers and Worker Proposals Earn Beyondbits for Participating!

Notice: Beyondbit Payouts are BASED ON POST PAYOUTS and are sent After Final Payouts for this post are Received!

"Join weekly to speak with founding community members of the BitShares Enterprise Dex about history and current events in Cryptocurrency and earn some free BitShares Tokens!" ~officialfuzzy

Hangout Format:

This will go up at least 4 days before the BitShares Hangout. BitShares community members who post subjects to cover and bring topics of discussion are asked to do so in response to this post first. Worker Proposals are a Chief Focus in these hangouts, but other topics and projects are welcome to join. @officialfuzzy can finally pay people who have supported this powerful cryptocurrency for the past 4 years since its birth and evolution. So reply below with valuable topics, updates, info we should cover and earn upvotes from in this thread and earn a special bonus if yours are chosen!

How Much Time Per Topic?

Hangouts will be at least 45 minutes long, but depending on attendance and projects/topics to be covered may last up to 60 minutes. Given this, we will try to stay with 5-6 core topics and will fit in others where possible.

What do we Earn for Actively Participating?

Those who attend will each earn from a pool of bitshares that will be purchased with earnings from this post. They will then be given directly to you via our new guestbook that we are testing.
Fuzzy will be giving Beyondbits to community founders who attend this weekly hangout to give their own unique perspectives and expert commentary. He will also be giving them to people who give topics and information we choose to use in our hangout!
So make sure you get a BitShares Wallet!

And let's not forget...you get SP through upvoting quality information and content worth sharing with the top minds in crypto across the graphene ecosystem!

Is any topic off Limits?

Yes. We reserve the right to learn from the newest trickster trolling steemit consistently searching for way to insert chaos into the equation and devise future strategies for negating these. Naturally if these efforts become ham-fisted attempts at shutting down free speech in honest conversations, the audience will hold us accountable.
But with that said....pretty much anything can be covered--even up to and including current events. However, I personally will only be voting up stories that touch the blockchain in some way shape or form and will be asking the community to downvote absolute Rubbish! ;)

BSIP-0023 - Sharedropping an UIA against an external cryptocurrency distribution snapshot

A couple weeks after talking about what BSIPs needed written up, I've thrown together the first draft of the UIA sharedrop BSIP.

Got an idea for Bitshares, throw together an BSIP!

Any updates this week for Gridcoin/BOINC? I like the website update and color. I signed up with SETI@home, it's been 8 years since I last had that running, and joined up with team Gridcoin :-) To earn Gridcoin I have to do all the steps 2, 3, 4 also? Installing research client, syncing the blockchain, doing POS etc.?

I won't be giving updates about Gridcoin during the Bitshares hangout, but here's some recent updates:

  • Mandatory gridcoin client upgrade to v3.6.0.2

  • Official website got updated, now we're just waiting for the client to get the branding/theme changes and we'll have completely changed Gridcoin's branding for the better :)

Yeah, in order to earn GRC for BOINC work you can either go solo (where you need to buy grc & stake a block to earn rewards) or you can use a pool (Where you don't need an upfront investment).

ok, thank you. I will look into the pools. With SETI running in the background my laptop might burst into flames if it has to work on crunching data for blocks at the same time lol.

look my post about waves. I think is interesing currency. It have LPOS , you can earn tokens leasing your waves

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@superpako/waves-plataform-and-lease-cryptocurrency

Try reading THIS post about Bitshares. It is a way more interesting currency. It has UIA, you can earn tokens by attending the hangout. :-p

yes is so interesting

Draft BSIP-0024 - "Locking Bitshares away as 'Bitshares Influence' for voting privileges on the BTS DEX"

Bitshares GUI Release v2.0.170830

This is the first release of the Bitshares Reference Wallet since the acceptance of the bitshares-ui proposal. Special thanks to @xeroc and @svk for their leadership. Also thanks to @calvinfroedge for the many issues he closed. Additionally, the team thanks the following for their bounty claims on the variety of bugs and features that were tackled this Sprint.

6 new features
17 bug fixes

For a complete list of the issues and conversation surrounding the resolution of each issue, please take a look at Milestone 170901

Did we get around to talking about this today? If not, thanks to the UI devs - they've been doing a great job! :)

Collected Fees Report for July 2017

During the month, 698,000 BTS were collected for 16,700,000 operations (within 3,280,000 transactions) on the blockchain. Approximately half of the operations were due to market order creations, and approximately half were for market order cancellations. However, those operations only generated 15% of the collected fees.

The leading distribution of operational fees paid/collected with BTS were as follows:

Operation Type% of Total BTS
Asset create54%
Account upgrade23%
Limit order create14%
Account update4%
Transfer2%
Limit order cancel1%

I highly recommend attending. It's very easy to listen via your phone (plumble on Android) or computer using Mumble.

Or you can also listen to the podcasts which are cleaned up very well and give you a quick listen to better understanding what's going on in the ecosystem.

There are some very crypto experienced people on these hangouts sharing their ideas. It's very welcoming even for rookies (of which I am one).

And, if you have a good idea this is the place to figure out how to present it and possibly get support for you to work on it.

If you're having Mumble/Plumble issues then Reply to this chat. While the instructions in the video above are solid it still took me a while to get it to work properly. I'll be glad to help you with tech support or join you in a Mumble room to test your setup ahead of time.

Downloaded mumble for my iphone and entered the step 3 information to find the channel... looking forward to listening to this live!

Great. Glad you were able to make it work. A lot of smart people on the hangout!

Sorry, but I just have a question, when , please correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is to first open a BitShares Wallet. When I visit the site, it makes me choose between wallet model and account model.

Will the Account Model also work?

Okay, I just created a BitShares Wallet and have downloaded Mumble. This is the my first time joining and using these tools. Will join to see the flow of things.

I am allin on bitshares, perhaps you like my Gladiator story about BitShares I wrote today! 😄

Every project is always fun to hear and understand. All the best to the participating members.
