While the article is very dismissive of Bitcoin, it is not the article that is important. It is the publicity.
The Big Bang Theory is a huge hit and has fans across all age groups. My 80 year old mother loves the show. This will reach a very broad audience indeed. The article was dismissive of the show as well, so maybe the author just has something against success.
The article makes reference to Bitcoin being $5000 in the show and how that is already a number left far in the rearview mirror. This will become common knowledge amongst the fans base. As I type this Bitcoin is at $8,749.97 and lord only knows what it will be worth when (if) you read this. I mean you might not see this for hours and BTC could be over 9K.
You can't go more main stream than a top hit on network TV. I really think 2018 will be the cross over year. Mass knowledge and adoption is what investors are looking for. Institutional money is coming in and that will drive the prices UP UP UP.! But it will also stabilize them. I think 25K Bitcoin by January 2019 is very possible, but I also think that 2018 will be the last year you will be able to expect triple digit returns on large cap crypto's like Bitcoin. The era of the early adopters will be over far sooner than most people think.
