I feel my inner bigot has gotten bigger.
I know about 4 million Arabs have died due to war since 1990, and only 1 Dutch person and a handful of tourists and military personal from fellow english speaking people.
Still, the media and internet has gotten hold of me a little bit.
So, I decide to meet my new Turkish contact :D
Traveling by train, it takes me about 3 hours to get there.
I just want to get into contact with this Arab man, to see, what I already know... that people are awesome! (Unless they are full of rage and carry a weapon, which won't happen that often since most people are friendly) (and actually.... atheists really are the most murderous of the bunch, yup...).
So yeah... Contact therapy, to get rid of my media induced bigotry :)
Turned out, he already took his flight, and I missed it.
Back at home I still had to finish my thesis, and nothing has been done...
I am king of procrastination ^^

most of my story was about: If you really want to be a hero in procrastinating, visit a friend 300 miles away who isn't going to be there. The whole understanding others to save yourself from bigotry was to add fuel to the fire of procrastinating. (It helps to have a good story, to really move you away from work).

It's commendable that you want to expand your horizons and to replace bigotry with compassion.

You should start with the definition, not with examples with questionable relatedness at most.
Atheist - a person that does not believe in the existence of a theistic god.
It's not an ideology, it's not a lifestyle, it's not even a political conviction. So everything you've written after the colon is basically irrelevant.
But if you are looking for correlations between the single trait of atheism among the human population, you'll find educatedness much higher on the list than murderousness. That's of course, if you value real data and facts.

Just to make it clear, I try to be as accepting as I can when people disagree with me. I don't want them to be discouraged to speak their minds just because their point of view might hurt my feelings.
