Funding Shades Of Men - Update #7

Hello there,

Quick update to talk about my progress on page 123. I finished the line work yesterday so I thought I'd share it here with you guys.

No major spoil in this page as it's mainly action. If you want to keep the final page render a suprise, please skip this, I'll be posting it as soon as I finish with colours and shading.

Below my canvas on the art studio app. On the left is page 122 that I completed a week ago. On the right the thumbnail I had completed previously.

This thumbnail is pretty detailed, so it allowed me to draw over it fairly quickly. As I mentioned in a previous post, I do like the movement I created. The crowd in the first panel could have been a little more dense but it works well this way.

Finally the line work revealed. I usually adjust it while I colour it as I often notice things I don't like as much. Could be just a weird line or a slight proportion to revisit.

While posting this I actually noticed a few. Let's be honest, art is never really complete. I feel I could always improve it but time is running out and I can't spent my whole life on a single story, right?

I drew the final panel several times with various poses. Some less bad-ass than others. I ended choosing this to move the story a little faster. This way on the next page Lev already has the gun in hands and the needed shotgun at reach. This is the final chapter of the story so I'm making sure it all falls into place in the end.

Here are a few thoughts for improving the page:

  • Make my character Lev more beat up as he's just been out of a tough situation.
  • Incorporate borders into the design to avoid another splash page.
  • Rearrange the last panel so it's not as clustered, more understandable.
  • Fix proportions on last panel.

You have more suggestions? You like it the way it is? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for following along.
Please consider upvoting or sharing this page to support my fundition campaign. We could have this book printed in real life with enough support! How cool would that be!?!

See you on the other side,

Jrej
